Create album art and branding for the band Mangekyo

"Endangered Species"

This was a job I was hired to do by the members in Mangekyo. When they came to me they had a really interesting idea for the artwork. First the word "Mangekyou" means kaleidoscope in Japanese. Their focus was on the preservation of endangered species. They really focused on the honey bee and wanted to use that as their main component for their logo. The rest of the album they wanted me to design creatures that were endangered species combined. So I used animals like a White Rhino fused with a Gorilla, or an Orangutan with an African Elephant, and so on. All these creatures were hand drawn. The logo with the bee was based off the "kaleidoscope" idea using geometric shapes to create the insect. I created the font for the band name as well using a Japanese style influence.
